After many hours of surveying youths, youth organizations, and community members, this asset map was developed to help use the ideas to improve our community with a focus on the youth.
WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE? Currently, the EDC Youth Commission is utilizing this map to take the “next steps” and bridge those “barriers” to empower youth to take social action. Youth Coming Together, a 4-H project, and the Community Mapping Committee recently began working cooperatively with GPS units. The goal of this coalition is to use the GPS units in order to create a visual map of El Dorado County that displays the locations of youth resources and organizations compared to local transportation bus stops. We will continue to work toward accomplishing this goal.
