Master Food Preserver Training Application

The Master Food Preservers Program

 

We are a volunteer organization dedicated  to teaching the art and science of safe home food preservation to the community.  We recommend and teach the food preservation procedures of the University of California Cooperative Extension, Davis.

 

To become a certified Master Food Preserver (MFP) you will be required to attend our 10-week, 50-hour training course on food preservation.  Upon completion, all MFPs are required to volunteer a minimum of 40 hours a year and attend 12 hours a year of continuing education programs. Volunteer Service in the community includes:

 

«    Teaching public classes on safe home food preservation:
        canning, freezing and dehydrating. 
(Tuesdays & occasional 
          Saturdays 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon)
 

 «     Answering questions about food preservation at County 
           Fairs, Farmer's Markets, community events and via our
           preservation telephone hot line.

If you are interested in taking Master Food Preserver Training Classes to become a certified Master Food Preserver, please click on the link below for the application form. 

The next training classes are scheduled to take place in March 4th of 2008.  The classes will run from that date until May 13, 2008.  They will be held at the UCCE office every Tuesday from 10 am until noon.

You can mail in your completed application at any time, however; and we will contact you in February to confirm that you are still interested.
